Members join with their second properties, which are reviewed and assigned a “key value” that determines the travel credits they receive whenever it’s made available for guests. They then use those travel credits (or “keys”) to book other private destinations in the network, paying only the small exchange fee and saving up to 90% when compared to traditional holiday rentals. Unlike a traditional home exchange, there are no direct swaps.
There are two types of fees involved for members. Firstly, the annual membership ($295 USD) which is complimentary in the first calendar year. Secondly, the set exchange fee for each stay, which is based on a property’s availability, location, size and amenities. The exchange fee ranges between $495 – $1995 USD per week, which is up to 90% less than typical rental rates.
Each stay with ThirdHome is seven nights.
